29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:    830 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury, MA: On or about August 2, 2016 employer had not provided one or more methods of guarding to protect the operator of a Mecco Straightener machine SN# 988, from rotating parts exposing them to caught by hazards.    (a) Straightening dies, front of machine.  No guarding to prevent employees from placing hands or other parts of the body into the danger zone.  (b) Straightening dies, top of machine. No guarding to prevent employees from placing hands or other parts of the body into the danger zone.  (c) Conductor stock.  No guard or other acceptable means was used to handle conductor stock entering machine requiring employees to handle a rotating shaft.      Specific abatement documentation that this violation has been corrected must be provided within 10 days of the abatement in accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d)(1).
