29 CFR 1910.36(d)(1): Employees were unable to open an exit route door from the inside at all times without keys, tools, or special knowledge. A device such as a panic bar that locks only from the outside was not permitted on exit discharge doors: The east entrance exit route door has a keyed lock only. The hallway along this east entrance/exit route configuration is such that employees can get locked in between the east entry door and the north entry way. An employee suffered being locked in between the doors. Abatement certification and abatement documentation is required for this violation.
