29 CFR 1910.151(c): Where employees were exposed to injurious corrosive materials, suitable facilities for quick drenching or flushing of the eyes and body were not provided within the work area for immediate emergency use[ANSIZ358.1-2004]:     On or about August 16 2016, at the housekeeping products area, employees were exposed to eyes and skin hazards when they used and/or handle corrosive products such as NCL Hombre High Acid Emulsion Bowl Cleaner (hydrogen chloride) during rooms cleaning operations and there were no facilities available for quick drenching of the eyes.    NOTE 2:  Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.

29 CFR 1910.1200(e)(1): The employer did not develop, implement, and/or maintain at the workplace a written hazard communication program which describes how the criteria specified in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f), (g), and (h) will be met:    On or about August 16 2016, the employer did not ensure having safety data sheets for all hazardous products used by employees during the following operations:    a. At the housekeeping products area, employees were exposed to eyes and skin hazards when they used corrosive products such as NCL Hombre High Acid Emulsion Bowl Cleaner (hydrogen chloride) during rooms cleaning operations.    b. At the laundry room area, employees were exposed to eyes and skin hazards when they used and/or handled corrosive products containers such as Swisher Clear effect (hydrogen peroxide) and Super break (sodium hydroxide)  during laundry operations.    NOTE 1:  Certification of abatement is not required for this citation item as abatement was documented by the compliance safety and health officer during the inspection.

NOTE 1: The Lindberg Bay Hotel and Villas formerly Best Western Carib Beach Resort was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 496060, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 22, 2012 with respect to a workplace [Emerald Beach Resort] located at 8070 Lindbergh Bay, St. Thomas, VI 00802.     NOTE 2:  Certification and documentation of abatement must be submitted for this citation item as required by 29 CFR 1903.19(c) and (d), respectively.
