OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to excessive heat while working with and around gas heated copper kettles:     a) Hot Panning Operation - On or about August 26, 2016, employees working with and around gas heated copper kettles were exposed to excessive heat which could cause heat-related illness(es) not limited to heat exhaustion and heat stroke.    Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.      MODIFIED TO:         29 CFR 1910.9(b): Where the employer was required to train employees, provide training to employees, or institute or implement a training program, the effected employees were not provided with the training by the employer.    (a)	Hot Panning Operation - The employer did not provide training to front line supervisors and production employees on hazards related to heat injuries and illnesses.  Employees working with and around gas heated copper kettles were exposed to excessive heat which could cause heat-related illness(es) including but not limited to heat exhaustion and heat stroke on or about August 26, 2016.
