29 CFR 1960.59(a): The Agency did not provide appropriate safety and health training for employees: (a) Inmates potentially exposed to heat-related illnesses while performing landscaping activities had not received training on the hazards of heat exposure and prevention measures to include: * Risk factors for heat-related illnesses * Different types of heat-related illnesses, including how to recognize common signs and symptoms * Heat-related illness prevention procedures * Importance of acclimatization, how it is developed, and how worksite procedures address it * Importance of immediately reporting signs or symptoms of heat-related illnesses to the supervisor * Procedures for responding to possible heat-related illnesses (b) Inside and outside landscaping staff potentially exposed to heat-related illnesses while performing landscaping activities had not received training on the hazards of heat exposure and prevention measures to include: * Risk factors for heat-related illnesses * Different types of heat-related illnesses, including how to recognize common signs and symptoms * Heat-related illness prevention procedures * Importance of acclimatization, how it is developed, and how worksite procedures address it * Importance of immediately reporting signs or symptoms of heat-related illnesses to the supervisor * Procedures for responding to possible heat-related illnesses ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED
