29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(iii): The employer did not identify and evaluate the respiratory hazard(s) in the workplace; including a reasonable estimate of employee exposures to respiratory hazards and identification of the contaminant's chemical state and physical form: a) 12 River Road, Chatham, NJ: The employer failed to adequately identify and evaluate worker airborne exposure to n-propyl bromide (nPB) during degreaser operation and still cleaning. Personal monitoring on 06/28/16 indicated employee exposures to nPB of 0.427 and 3.9 parts per million (ppm) during still clean out and degreaser operation, respectively. These exposures were calculated at an 8 hour time weighted average (TWA) and were 4.27 and 39 times the American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists (ACGIH) 2014 threshold limit value (TLV) for nPB of 0.1 ppm as an 8 hour TWA. Violation occurred on or about 06/28/16.
