29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. Located on a commercial roof structure of Phase 1 project, employees were performing framing work on a steep pitch roof while not utilizing any fall protection system. Potential fall height was measured to be 21.9 feet with a roof pitch of 8/12.
