29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks shall be examined before being placed in service, and shall not be placed in service if the examination shows any condition adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle. Such examination shall be made at least daily. Where industrial trucks are used on a round-the-clock basis, they shall be examined after each shift. Defects when found shall be immediately reported and corrected.   a. On or about November 02, 2016, at the above referenced worksite, employees were required to operate forklifts around the clock in the performance of their duties. The employer failed to ensure that all Forklifts were inspected at the end of each shift. Employees were thereby exposed to struck by hazards associated with operating forklifts having adverse conditions affecting the safety of the vehicles.   Abatement documentation is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
