29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Sorting Room: 1) The light curtains for the lift to get to the sorting platform were inoperable. 2) The electrical interlock for the door of the plastic compactor on the upper sorting level was inoperable. 3) The electrical interlock of the door of the dumping machine on the upper sorting level was inoperable. Press Area: The strobe light for a shuttle was not working. Mending Room: 1) Feeder #1 was not provided with a light curtain at the front side of the machine or an adequate guard. 2) Pinchpoints at the stacker created by the table halves, the piston, and the leather belts and rolls were not guarded.
