This violation exposed the employees to rotating and flying parts when in operation. This condition was observed on or about November 23, 2016.

29 CFR 1910.213(d)(1): Circular handfed crosscut table saw was not guarded by an automatically adjusting hood which completely enclosed that portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut: a) Wood Shop - The employer did not ensure that the automatically adjusting hood which completely encloses the portion of the saw above the table and above the material being cut was in place prior to being use by employees thus exposing the employees to amputation hazards. An employee received an amputation of his right index finger when it came into contact with the rotating blade of the table saw, on or about November 19, 2016.
