29 CFR 1910.95(g)(5)(i): The employer did not establish, within 6 months of an employee's first exposure at or above the action level, a valid baseline audiogram against which subsequent audiograms can be compared: a.) The Warco 50 ton Power Press - An employee, who was fabricating Motorcycle packing supports, was exposed to continuous noise at 77.2% of the permissible exposure level of 90 dBA or an eight hour time weighted average (TWA) noise exposure of 88.2 dBA. This exposure was observed occurring over a 404 minute sampling period on December 20, 2016. A zero exposure was assumed for the 76 minutes not sampled. The employer did not establish a baseline audiogram for the exposed employee. b.) The Verson Power Press - An employee, who was fabricating parts for office equipment, was exposed to continuous noise at 135.8% of the permissible exposure level of 90 dBA or an eight hour time weighted average (TWA) noise exposure of 92.2 dBA. This exposure was observed occurring over a 351 minute sampling period on February 7, 2017. A zero exposure was assumed for the 129 minutes not sampled. The employer did not establish a baseline audiogram for the exposed employee. c.) The Blanchard Grinder - An employee who was grinding parts, was exposed to continuous noise at 99.8% of the permissible exposure level of 90 dBA or an eight hour time weighted average (TWA) noise exposure of 89.9 dBA. This exposure was observed occurring over a 421 minute sampling period on February 7, 2017. A zero exposure was assumed for the 59 minutes not sampled. The employer did not establish a baseline audiogram for the exposed employee. The Mal-Ber manufacturing Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.95(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1037196, citation number 1, item number 1b and was affirmed as a final order on July 7,2015, with respect to a workplace located at 2115 Byberry Rd., Huntingdon Valley PA, 19006.
