29 CFR 1960.8(a): A place of employment that was free from recognized hazards that caused or were likely to cause death or serious physical harm was not furnished: Portable fire extinguishers were not subjected to a maintenance checks in accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 10 Chapter 6 Inspection, Maintenance, and Recharging: (a) The Badger fire extinguisher in GSA Truck A351833 was not subjected to an annual maintenance check. The most recent annual maintenance check was 2012/2013 as indicated on the tag. (b) The Badger fire extinguisher in GSA Truck A347696 was not subjected to an annual maintenance check. The most recent annual maintenance check was 2012/2013 as indicated on the tag. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct these hazards is to conduct maintenance checks in accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 10 Chapter 6 Inspection, Maintenance, and Recharging.
