OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees:   On or about 18 November 2016, an assembly employee was exposed to amputation and struck by hazards in that the employee was working with part of his body (hands/fingers) under the suspended load.     AMONG OTHER METHODS, ONE FEASIBLE AND ACCEPTABLE METHOD TO CORRECT THIS HAZARD IS:      1. Ensure employees keep their hands and fingers are away from pinch points and from under any load when using the Eriez magnets for lifting materials.  Page 10 of the Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions points out the operator and other personnel need to push or pull in such a manner as to avoid endangering hands or other body parts as the load is lowered.
