29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:      For the employees operating the Northfield Band Saw, on or about December 7, 2016 in the mechanical properties area.  The employer did not ensure the fixed guard extended to cover the unused portion of the blade.  This exposes the operator to the hazard of amputation and flying debris.    Saint Jean Industries, Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1149102, citation 1, item number 1, instance A, and was affirmed as a final order on July, 25, 2016 with respect to a workplace located at 424 Industrial Park Road, Heber Springs, AR. 72543.
