29 CFR 1910.23(c)(1): Open-sided floors and/or platforms four feet or more above adjacent floor or ground level were not guarded with standard railings (or equivalent) and toeboards:Note: Toeboards are only required when persons can pass, there is moving equipment or there is equipment with which falling materials could create a hazard. The following violations were observed on or about December 14, 2016. a. On the grease finishing tanks where employees were exposed to a 11 foot fall hazard when loading chemicals into the mixing tanks without being protected from falling. b. On the storage tanks where an employee was exposed to a fall hazard of 8 feet when checking tank depths without being protected from falling.
