29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: Location: 95-111 Rail Road Ave., Newark, NJ. On or about 1/6/2017; a) Employee were exposed to a fall hazard of over 30 feet to the ground below as fall protection methods were not used while they were working from the first level of a scaffold that was erected at the edge of the newly constructed addition. b) Employees were exposed to fall hazards of up to 30 feet to the ground below as fall protection methods were not use as employees worked/walked near unprotected edges at the construction site.
