29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: (a) On or about February 7, 2017, and at times prior, the employer did not ensure that portable fire extinguishers used by employees were mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries. 1. A dry-chemical portable fire extinguisher located on the North East side of the main shop was not mounted and identified exposing employees to fire hazards. 2. A dry-chemical portable fire extinguisher located on the South West side of the main shop was not readily accessible. Access to the fire extinguisher was blocked by parts and supplies subjecting the employees to injuries. Abatement Note: Abatement certification is required for this item (see enclosed "Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet").
