29 CFR 1926.501(b)(11): "Steep roofs." Each employee on a steep roof with unprotected sides and edges 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by guardrail systems with toeboards, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. The employer is failing to ensure that all employees exposed to fall hazards while working on a steep-sloped commercial roof are utilizing fall protection. This most recently occurred on February 28, 2017 on the jobsite located at 2810 Copper Ridge Rd, Lincoln, NE 68516. Employees were observed doing standing seam work on a building with a 5 in 12 sloped roof at heights of approximately 11.5 feet above the ground.
