29 CFR 1926.651(i)(1): Where the stability of adjoining buildings, walls, or other structures was endangered by excavation operations, support systems such as shoring, bracing or underpinning was not provided to ensure the stability of such structures for the protection of employees: A) On or about 02/27/2017, at the South-West corner of 9th Ave & 119th Street, Whitestone, NY Employee working inside of a trench measuring 5'W x 8'L x 5-1/2'D, near the east wall, was not protected from unstable structures. A piece of asphalt fell from the trench wall, underneath the metal plate, and struck an employee. ABATEMENT VERIFICATION IS REQUIRED PURSUANT TO 29 CFR 1903.19.
