29 CFR 1910.1000(c): An employee(s) was exposed to respirable crystalline quartz silica in excess of the 8-hour time weighted average (TWA) limit of 250 million particles per cubic foot (mppcf) / (%SiO2 + 5) listed in Table Z-3: I-190 in the vicinity of Greenland Rd, Sterling MA, on or about 3/9/17: (a) An employee performing jackhammering during a 295 minute sampling period was exposed to an equivalent exposure of 14.7 mppcf as an 8-hour TWA, which is 1.5 times the TWA limit of 9.6 mppcf. (b) An employee performing jackhammering during a 276 minute sampling period was exposed to an equivalent exposure of 15.5 mppcf as an 8-hour TWA, which is 1.2 times the TWA limit of 12.5 mppcf.
