29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Brass Machining Department, on or about 3/21/17: Delta hand drill press with multi spindle heads was not provided with a guard to prevent contact with the rotating chuck and tool during operation. b) Fabrication Department, on or about 3/21/17: (3) Three Bridgeport milling machines were equipped with chuck guards; however, the guards were not properly adjusted to prevent contact with the rotating chuck and tooling during operation. Spinco Metal Products Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 901413, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 6/14/2013, with respect to a workplace located at One Country Club Drive, Newark, NY 14513.
