29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks:      a)Palletizing Department: The ingoing nip points from the rotating wheels of the head of the Strapex palletizing machine were not guarded, on or about 3/28/2017.    b)Palletizing Department: Guards were not installed on the Strapex palleting machine to prevent employees from having any part of their body in the danger zone during the operating cycle when the stapper head moves towards the pallet.  An employee was injured when their right hand was caught inbetween the strapper head and frame of the mahcine, on or about 3/12/17     NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM. FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1000.00 IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
