29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.  On or about April 20, 2017, employees were exposed to over a 25 foot fall when walking/working from the roof of a multi-residential property while installing exterior sheeting, the employer did not ensure the employees were protected from a fall.    Abatement documentation is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer did not provide a training program for each employee potentially exposed to fall hazards to enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards:  On or about April 20, 2017, employees performing construction activities were not trained to recognize and minimize the hazards associated with a fall, exposing the employees to the hazards associated with a fall.    Abatement certification is required of this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
