29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: Procedures were not utilized to de-energize and control hazardous energy created by filler machines during servicing and maintenance operations including unjamming of soda cans. On 4-26-17, A filler machine operator suffered a partial finger-tip amputation when he had to unjam a soda can. Procedures to de-energize and lock-out the energy source were not utilized.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: Line 5: Rotating and moving parts were not fully guarded including the filler, worm gear, star wheel, and feed to the seamer. Line 4: Rotating and moving parts were not fully guarded including the filler machine, star wheel, feed to the seamer, and a section of moving chain.
