29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by moving saw blades: (a) Line 2 and Other Lines - Employees used Marel AEW Delford 400 vertical band saws to cut pigs' feet, and the employees did not adjust the blade guards down to the height of the meat, exposing employees to the hazard of getting cut by the unused portion of the band saw blades above the height of the meat, on or about May 9, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and state employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1904.39(a)(2): Within twenty-four (24) hours after the in-patient hospitalization of one or more employees or an employee's amputation or an employee's loss of an eye, as a result of a work-related incident, the employer did not report the in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye to OSHA: (a) Vantage Foods PA LP, 2700 Yetter Court, Camp Hill, Pennsylvania - An employee suffered a finger-tip amputation, on May 9, 2017 as a result of getting cut by the blade while operating a vertical band saw. The employer failed to report this work-related amputation to OSHA within 24 hours. (The employer reported this amputation to OSHA on May 12, 2017.) Corrected during the inspection.
