29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i): The employer did not provide training to ensure that the purpose and function of the energy control program are understood by employees and that the knowledge and skills required for the safe application, usage, and removal of the energy controls are acquired by employees: (a) 2700 Yetter Court, Camp Hill Pennsylvania - Employees change the band saw blades. The employer did not provide adequate training to ensure that employees had the knowledge and skills to changed the blades of band saw in that the power was not disconnected and secured when the machine was left unattended, on or about October 13, 2017. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by moving saw blades: (a) 2700 Yetter Court, Camp Hill Pennsylvania - An employee was cutting pork on a Marel 400-03 Band Saw. The employer did not ensure that the blade guard was adjusted down to the height of the meat, exposing employees to hazards of getting cut by the unused portion of the band saw blade, on or about October 11, 2017. Abatement certification and documentation required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, the date and method of abatement, and state that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement. Abatement documentation shall include documents demonstrating that abatement is complete, such as evidence of the purchase or repair of equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement or other written records.
