29 CFR 1926.967(g)(2): Controlling traffic. Before employees begin work in the vicinity of vehicular or pedestrian traffic that may endanger them, the employer shall place warning signs or flags and other traffic control devices in conspicuous locations to alert and channel approaching traffic. a. On or about May 25, 2017 at the above referenced work site, employees were required to work in a traffic zone as part of their assigned duties. Employees parked a vehicle in a high traffic thoroughfare without adequate traffic control devices and / or flaggers as required in a work zone. The employer failed to ensure warning signs and or flaggers were deployed in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. Employees were thereby exposed to struck-by hazards. There is no abatement certification or documentation required for this item.
