29 CFR 1926.760(a)(1): Each employee engaged in a steel erection activity who is on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge more than 15 feet (4.6 m) above a lower level was not protected from fall hazards by guardrail systems, safety net systems, personal fall arrest systems, positioning device systems, or fall restraint systems. a. On or about June 1, 2017, at the above addressed jobsite, employees conducting bar joist installation operations were exposed to falls of thirty four (34') feet one (1") inch and twenty two (22) feet, created by the presence of unprotected sides and edges. Schmidt Steel Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.760(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 957944, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on (date), with respect to a workplace located at 25777 Cleveland Avenue, Monee, IL 60449. Schmidt Steel Incorporated was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (1926.760(a)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 910319, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on (date), with respect to a workplace located at 4686 Rockton Road, Rockton, IL 61072.
