29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) at the facility, in the Central Heat Treat Building, on top of the west Temper Furnace, employees maintain equipment without fall protection at a height measured at approximately 9 feet. b) at the facility, in the Central Heat Treat Building, on top of the east Temper Furnace, employees maintain equipment without fall protection at a height measured at approximately 9 feet. c) at the facility, in the Off Setter Building, employees must make adjustments on top of the furnace without fall protection at a higher level platform of 8 feet then step down to a platform on a lower level of 5 feet - 9 inches.
