29 CFR 1926.501(b)(12): "Precast concrete erection." Each employee engaged in the erection of precast concrete members (including, but not limited to the erection of wall panels, columns, beams, and floor and roof "tees") and related operations such as grouting of precast concrete members, who is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower level was not protected from falling by guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems, unless another provision in paragraph (b) of this section provides for an alternative fall protection measure: a) On or about June 16, 2017 - at the above addressed jobsite - employees installing precast wall panels on the second floor unit in a new construction building were exposed to fall hazards due to the presence of unprotected sides/edges. Thereby exposing the employees to falls of approximately twenty (20) feet. The ACC, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1204408, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on March 3, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at Chase and Quentin, Palatine, IL 60038. The ACC, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1022787, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on May 12, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 37th & Saginaw Avenue, Chicago, IL 60038.
