29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): Such programs shall provide for frequent and regular inspections of the job sites, materials, and equipment to be made by competent persons designated by the employers. Workers were observed engaged in commercial construction activities installing wooden framing material for a new fast food restaurant. Workers were exposed to fall hazards and regular and frequent inspections by a competent person were not conducted to ensure that the jobsite, materials, and equipment such as fall protection systems were maintained and utilized in a safe manner.

29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. Workers were observed engaged in commercial construction activities installing wooden framing material for a new fast food restaurant. Workers were exposed to fall hazards greater than 6.0 feet in that workers were not properly trained in fall protection criteria.

Except as provided in 1926.500(a)(2) or in 1926.501 (b)(1) through (b)(14), each employee on a walking/working surface 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels shall be protected from falling by a guardrail system, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system. Workers were exposed to fall hazards greater than 6.0 feet in that a proper fall protection system was not utilized.
