29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems.     Located on the wood roof deck, employees were observed performing framing activities along perimeter exterior areas of the structure adjacent to unprotected sides or edges without conventional fall protection and were exposed to fall potentials in excess of 14 feet.     Structure Building and Design, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 834965, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on February 27, 201, with respect to a workplace located at 11595 Princeton Pike Cincinnati, OH 45246.

Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers.     Located along the interior area of the structure there is an employee observed positioned between roof trusses performing commercial framing while standing on the midrail of a Genie GS-1930 scissors lift and was not protected by standard guardrails exposing the employee to a fall potential in excess of 11 feet.
