29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): Each employee on a walking/working surface with an unprotected side or edge which was 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level was not protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. The employer did not ensure that employees working on a commercial building were not exposed to fall hazards greater than 6 feet by the use of appropriate fall protection, in that: (a) An employee was straddling the parapet of the roof and was exposed to a fall hazard, and; (b) An employee was working on the roof which had an unprotected roof opening.
