29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer shall conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirements of this standard are being followed. a. On or about July 13, 2017, located throughout the site, the employer did not ensure periodic inspections were performed on over 100 energy control procedures at least annually on equipment that fell under the requirements of 1910.147(c)(4)(i), i.e. Cast Booster Kettles, thereby exposing the employees to the unexpected startup of equipment and/or release of stored energy.
