Smothers Construction Group, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 982118, citation number 2, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on October 22, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 717 Isle of Palms Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida .

29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed:    On or about August 3, 2017, at the above addressed jobsite, employees engaged in residential construction operations were exposed to a 9-foot fall hazard when the ladder used to access the second level did not extend 3 feet about the upper landing surface.      Smothers Construction Group, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 982118, citation number 2, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on October 22, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 717 Isle of Palms Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Florida .
