OSH ACT of 1970 Section (5)(a)(1): The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees that were exposed to struck by hazards from falling stock.    On or about August 7, 2017, employees were exposed to struck-by hazards while stocking and retrieving product from unsecured storage racks throughout the facility and the employer did not ensure that all column base plates of the storage racks were anchored to the floor with anchor bolts.    Abatement documentation is required in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(d).

29 CFR 1910.133(a)(1): Protective eye and face equipment was not required where there was a reasonable probability of injury that could be prevented by such equipment.    On or about August 7, 2017, employees in the battery charging area were exposed to chemical burn hazards when required to fill powered industrial truck battery coils with distilled water and the employer did not ensure employees were required to wear suitable personal protective equipment such as, a face shield and goggles when performing this work activity.    Abatement certification is required for this item in accordance with the requirements of 29 CFR 1903.19(c).
