29 CFR 1910.179(g)(1)(v): Pendant control boxes shall be constructed to prevent electrical shock and shall be clearly marked for identification of functions. a. On or about August 7, 2017, in the forklift maintenance shop, employees operated a Harrington two ton gantry crane that had a pendant control box with all of the buttons not marked to identify the functions for moving powered industrial vehicle batteries, thereby exposing employees to a struck-by hazard.

29 CFR 1910.1200(g)(8): The employer shall maintain in the workplace copies of the required material safety data sheets for each hazardous chemical, and shall ensure that they are readily accessible during each work shift to employees when they are in their work area(s). (Electronic access, microfiche, and other alternatives to maintaining paper copies of the material safety data sheets are permitted as long as no barriers to immediate employee access in each workplace are created by such options.) a. On or about August 7, 2017, at the workplace, the employer did not maintain safety data sheets for battery electrolyte where employees handled, charged, and added water to power industrial vehicle batteries.
