29 CFR 1926.451(g)(2): The employer did not have a competent person determine the feasibility and safety of providing fall protection for employees erecting or dismantling supported scaffolds. Employers are required to provide fall protection for employees erecting or dismantling supported scaffolds where the installation and use of such fall protection is feasible and does not create a greater hazard: a) Employees were exposed to 20 ft fall hazard working without fall protection erecting a sidewalk canopy (scaffold); the employer did not evaluate fall protection means and methods and ensure employees will have fall protection when erecting/ dismantling a scaffold. Location: 119 5th Ave, New York, N.Y. On or about 7/12/2017 NOTE: THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION FOR THIS ITEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH 29 CFR 1903.19.
