29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation: a. On or about August 23, 2017, two employees were using pneumatic air guns performing roofing activities without the use of safety glasses.

29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels is not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, a personal fall arrest system, or an alternative fall protection measure as provided by another provision in paragraph (b) of this section: a. Employees performing roofing work are not protected from fall hazards by the use of a fall protection system. The employer fails to assure effective protections against falls as required by the standard, as demonstrated on August 23, 2017, when employees are working on a residential roof with a 6:12 pitch at Lot 30, Ponte Vedra, Florida, and are exposed to a 15 feet fall hazard to the ground in that the employees are not attached to a personal fall protection system. K & G Construction Co., Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(11), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1130225, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on March 4, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 445 Pullman Circle, Saint Augustine, FL, 32084. K & G Construction Co., Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1080845, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 20, 2015, with respect to a workplace located at 6977 San Jose Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32099.
