29 CFR 1910.179(i): Crane(s) equipped with a power traveling mechanism were not provided with a gong or other effective warning signal: On or about August 24, 2017, and at times prior to, in the VTL areas overhead crane was operated by a remote control device to lift heavy steel parts were not provided with the means (audible alarm or strobe light) to warn employees working in the areas when the cranes were on the move. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards.

29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: On or about August 25, 2017, and at times prior thereto, employees were allowed to operate machines that were found not having guards provided, including but not limited to the following instances: 1) Throughout the shop area, employees were operating CNC machines which did not have interlock device provided. 2) In the Sooner West building, employee was operating a manual lathe machine which did not have chuck guard provided. 3) At the Hwacheon Hi-Tech A CNC lathe machine in the Sooner West building, a chip conveyor being used without a guard/cover provided. Employees were exposed to possible amputation and caught in hazards.
