29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips: This violation was observed on or about March 8, 2018, when employees are allowed to operate CNC machines without point of operation guarding being provided exposing employees to the hazards of being caught in the machinery. Sooner Manufacturing was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1257927, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on March 21, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 1529 N. 168th East Ave., Tulsa, OK. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including providing machine guarding for all of the CNC machines.
