29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(4): Ladder(s) were used for purposes other than the purpose for which they were designed: a) On August 29, 2017, the employer provided for employee use the base section of an aluminum extension ladder to install windows to the exterior of a new construction single family home. b) On August 29, 2017, employees were exposed to fall hazards while using an a-frame ladder without its metal spreaders or locking devices in the open position to install windows to the exterior of a new construction single family home. Paul's Framing Pro, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(4), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 966860, citation number 1, item number 5b and was affirmed as a final order on April 29, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 3681 Heathmoor Dr., Elgin, IL 60124.
