NOTE: Construction Reference: 1926.59 The requirements applicable to construction work under this section are identical to those set forth at � 1910.1200 of this chapter. 29 CFR 1910.1200(h)(1): Employees were not provided effective information and training on hazardous chemicals in their work area at the time of their initial assignment and whenever a new hazard that the employees had not been previously trained about was introduced into their work area: a) On or about September 6, 2017, the employer did not did not provide employee(s) with training regarding the health hazards of Crystalline Silica. Employee(s) were observed tuck-pointing with mortar prepared from hazardous alkaline Brixment Type N mortar cement (contains Portland Cement, Crystalline Silica, pH > 12). In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
