29 CFR 1910.138(a): The employer did not select and require employee(s) to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands were exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasion; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. Front of store; Pea-Pod area; On or about 9/12/17, the employer did not provide and require employees to wear appropriate hand protection to be used when working with dry ice. Employees were told to wear nitrile gloves without any insulation, which does not protect from the extremely low temperature (-95 to -110 degrees F) of dry ice.
