29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a) Production Area, Hanover Furnace Line HAN-001: The employer did not develop, document or utilize energy control procedures while employees attempted to rethread the lines after weld breaks occurred, which potentially can cause tangling or crossing of the lines, exposing employees to caught-in and crushing hazards, on or about September 13, 2017. or In the Alternative: 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding were not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, in-going nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: a) Production Area, Hanover Furnace Line HAN-001: Employees entering the take-up end were not protected by guarding to prevent operators from coming into contact with the moving lines as they are fed through the take-up end, exposing employees to caught-in and crushing hazard, on or about September 13, 2017 ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED
