29 CFR 1926.1101(f)(2)(i): Each employer who has a workplace or work operation covered by this standard shall ensure that a "competent person" conducts an exposure assessment immediately before or at the initiation of the operation to ascertain expected exposures during that operation or workplace: On or about September 22, 2017, the employer did not conducted an exposure assessment for asbestos when a contractor removed a horizontal door with floor tiles on it from a building constructed in approximately the 1930s. No objective assessment of the tiles was conducted to determine if they contained asbestos prior to their removal.

29 CFR 1926.1101(k)(1)(ii): The employer shall include asbestos in the program established to comply with the Hazard Communication Standard (HCS) (� 1910.1200). The employer shall ensure that each employee is trained in accordance with the provisions of HCS and paragraphs (k)(9) and (10) of this section. The employer shall provide information on at least the following hazards: Cancer and lung effects: On or about September 22, 2017, the employer did not provide information and training to employees as required by the Hazard Communication Standard regarding asbestos. Employees were not informed of the location of asbestos containing material in the building and were not trained on the health hazards associated with asbestos exposure.
