29 CFR 1910.1026(d)(2)(i): The employer using the scheduled monitoring option did not perform initial monitoring to determine the 8-hour time-weighted average exposure to chromium (VI) for each employee on the basis of a sufficient number of personal breathing zone air samples to accurately characterize full shift exposure on each shift, for each job classification, in each work area: At the time of the inspection, it was determined that air monitoring was not conducted to determine the exposure to Hexavalent Chrome in the Die Build Department. The employer had conducted welding fume sampling using a laboratory method that did not determine the exposure to Hexavalent Chrome. The sampling method had a lower detection limit of 7.5 micrograms of total Chromium and the action level for Hexavalent Chrome is 2.5 micrograms.
