29 CFR 1926.651(h)(1): Employees were working in excavations in which there was accumulated water, or excavations in which water was accumulating, and adequate precautions had not been taken to protect employees against the hazards posed by water accumulation. (a) On or about October 13, 2017 or prior thereto; an employee was working in an excavation measuring approximately 18' long by approximately 7' wide and approximately 5.3' - 5.7' deep, using a concrete saw with a water attachment to cut a 10" hole into a manhole which created approximately a 6" deep by approximately 1.5' wide by approximately 3' long accumulation of water at the bottom of the excavation. NOTE: Abatement certification IS NOT required for this item.
