29 CFR 1910.138(a): General requirements. Employers shall select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. a) Dip tank area: On or about October 31, 2017, and at times prior, the employer exposed employees to cut hazards, in that the gloves provided to employees are not adequate in protecting employees from the sharp edges of the metal pieces and metal wire used in the dip tank area.
