29 CFR 1910.28(b)(6)(i): The employer did not ensure each employee less than 4 feet (1.2 m) above dangerous equipment was protected from falling into or onto the dangerous equipment by a guardrail system or a travel restraint system when the equipment was not covered or guarded to eliminate the hazard: a) North Penn Polishing & Plating - On or about November 9, 2017, an employee was working on a catwalk adjacent to dip tanks containing corrosives, such as Sodium Hydroxide and Hydrochloric Acid, where the sides of the dip tanks were no more than 21" above the catwalk, exposing the employee to chemical burns, drowning, and/or fall hazards. The employer did not provide fall protection for the tanks as required. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.

29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6)(i): The employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with the information required by 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(1)(i) through 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(1)(v): a) North Penn Polishing & Plating - On or about December 14, 2017, employees directly dispensing from or working around an unlabeled 55 gallon drum of Sodium Hydroxide, were exposed to chemical burns to skin or eyes. Abatement certification required within 10 days after abatement date. The certification shall include a statement that abatement is complete, date and method of abatement, and states that employees and their representatives were informed of this abatement.
